Energy class in Austria (Energieausweis)
Official certificate: Energieausweis
Austria uses the Energieausweis certificate to classify the energy performance of buildings.
The scale is absolute: thresholds are expressed in kWh/m²·yr.
Official Energieausweis scale
| Class | Max energy (kWh/m²·yr) |
|---|---|
| A++ | ≤ 10 |
| A+ | ≤ 15 |
| A | ≤ 25 |
| B | ≤ 50 |
| C | ≤ 100 |
| D | ≤ 150 |
| E | ≤ 200 |
| F | ≤ 250 |
| G | > 250 |
How the estimate works in Austria
In Austria, the Energieausweis class is based on absolute primary energy consumption (kWh/m²·yr). EnergyClass calculates the building's estimated energy need and compares it to official thresholds to assign the class.
