Energy class in Hungary (EPC)
Official certificate: EPC
Hungary uses the EPC certificate to classify the energy performance of buildings.
The scale is absolute: thresholds are expressed in kWh/m²·yr.
Official EPC scale
| Class | Max energy (kWh/m²·yr) |
|---|---|
| A+++ | ≤ 0 |
| A++ | ≤ 38 |
| A+ | ≤ 68 |
| A | ≤ 76 |
| B | ≤ 99 |
| C | ≤ 122 |
| D | ≤ 152 |
| E | ≤ 190 |
| F | ≤ 236 |
| G | ≤ 297 |
| H | ≤ 380 |
| I | > 380 |
How the estimate works in Hungary
In Hungary, the EPC class is based on absolute primary energy consumption (kWh/m²·yr). EnergyClass calculates the building's estimated energy need and compares it to official thresholds to assign the class.
